Member Platform

The tools your work actually requires.

The IGHAC Member Platform is a private, access-controlled environment for individual and organisational participants. It is being built to bring together four capabilities in one place: harm assessment tools, a growing research library, a structured training programme, and a curated directory of practitioners and specialists. The platform is in development and the screens shown on this page are illustrative layouts, not live output. No figure on this page is a research finding.

Assessment Suite

Structured harm assessment, grounded in published research

The assessment module gives professional and organisational members a structured way to record and organise harm indicators. It supports HR practitioners, EAP providers, occupational health clinicians and counsellors in conducting consistent, documented assessments.

Assessments are conducted by the professional using the platform, not self-reported by individuals in isolation. Each result maps to the IGHAC Harm Escalation Continuum (HEC), which provides a common vocabulary for describing where a person sits on a harm pathway, and a consistent structure for workplace policy documentation and longitudinal case tracking.

Status of the Harm Escalation Continuum. HEC is IGHAC's own advisory framework and is published as such. It has not yet completed psychometric validation, and it must not be used as the basis for a clinical referral decision or a diagnosis. It does not replace clinical judgement, a clinical interview, or a validated diagnostic instrument, and no threshold within it should be treated as a referral trigger. Validation is scheduled within IGHAC's research programme, beginning with the South African re-validation of the Problem Gambling Severity Index, and the framework will be revised on that evidence. This status note will be updated when that work completes.

All assessment data is securely stored, access-controlled, and governed under IGHAC's POPIA-compliant data management policy.

Research Vault

The evidence base. Curated and access-controlled.

The IGHAC Research Vault is an access-controlled working repository: drafts in progress, working papers, datasets under embargo pending ethics clearance, and framework documentation still under review. It is a workspace, not a paywall. Finished research, policy briefs and consultation submissions are published openly on this site and are not held behind it. Vault access is granted to collaborators on a specific study, under that study's agreed protocol.

Documents are tagged by jurisdiction, topic area, population group, and evidence type. Vault members can search the full archive, download complete documents, and receive notifications when new outputs are added to priority areas they follow.

Published research summaries, policy briefs and completed studies are open to everyone, without participation and without an account. What stays in the vault is unfinished work: drafts under revision and datasets under embargo pending ethics clearance.

Training and Certification

Structured professional development with programme recognition

IGHAC's training programme is designed for the practitioners who work most directly with gambling harm: HR professionals, EAP counsellors, occupational health clinicians, social workers, financial counsellors, and addiction specialists.

The programme is structured across four levels, from foundation awareness to specialist clinical and supervisory competency. Each level is delivered via the Member Platform in a self-paced format with structured assessments. Completion earns an IGHAC programme certificate. It is a stated objective of IGHAC to pursue formal continuing professional development (CPD) recognition for its training levels as the organisation's accreditation framework develops.

The Level 1 and Level 2 programmes are being built for all individual and organisational participants, and are not yet open for enrolment. Level 3 Specialist certification includes a supervised practice component. Level 4 is currently in development.

Member Directory

Find and connect with verified specialists

The IGHAC Member Directory is a searchable database of individual and organisational participants, and research collaborators, who have opted in to be listed. It enables practitioners to find specialists, refer clients, build collaborative research networks, and identify regional service capacity.

Directory listings include professional background, areas of practice, jurisdictional location, IGHAC certification level, and whether the member is accepting referrals or research enquiries. Listings will be verified by IGHAC and updated by participants directly. This directory is not yet live.
